Your balance is your coordinating ability. This allows you to control the center of gravity of your body.

With balance training, you promote neuromuscular coordination. That is the collaboration between your brain and your muscles. Your balance uses different systems. Your eyes (the visual system) help you orient in space. Your inner ear (vestibular system) records rotating movements and accelerations. The receptors in your joints and muscles and the pressure receptors in your skin (together the proprioceptive system) pass on changes in your posture.

The benefits of balance training are great. For example, you improve your posture and can stand or sit in a better way. This often also has a positive impact on your self-confidence and the way you come across to others. With balancing exercises, you mainly train your deep muscles, especially the muscles in the trunk and around your spine. This means less wear and tear of the back and less muscle pain due to poor posture. In addition, you prevent injuries both during exercise and in daily life because your body does not constantly get imbalanced, causing muscle strain.

Main benefit of mini ball:

⭐️ Stability Training

The small Pilates ball adds instability to the body when performing the exercises and increases the work performed by the stabilising muscles. Improving the body’s stability is incredibly important in preventing injuries. Poor stability and poor activation of the core stabilising muscles has been proven to lead to a higher risk of injury. 

⭐️ Improved Core Muscle Activation

The small Pilates ball helps to activate the core stabilising muscles. The instability which the ball provides facilitates activation of the core stabilising muscles. Using the small stability ball for abdominal exercises has been shown to dramatically increase the Rectus Abdominus muscle activation and decreases the back extensor muscle activation, allowing for better isolation of the abdominal muscles and less stress on the back muscles 

⭐️ Balance Training

Using the stability ball works on improving balance. Balance training has been shown to decrease falls in the elderly, as well as prevent or rehabilitate injuries and improve muscle imbalances. Performing exercise that incorporates both balance and resistance training has been shown to provide the best results

⭐️ Resistance Training

Resistance training has a huge variety of benefits, including increased muscle mass, increased metabolic rate, improved bone density, improved cognitive abilities, improved self-esteem and also in preventing certain injuries and diseases
